LEGACY

What appears to be an old 16mm film reel uncovered after years of being kept locked away, documents the degradation of the natural environment and its effects. Fires rage, floods swallow the frame, while chaos and destruction unfold in flickering fragments. This is all that’s left behind.

“legacy” employs physical film degradation to evoke a sense of loss. Using household chemicals such as washing soda and bleach, I intentionally distorted the negatives, degrading the emulsion and abstracting the image. This process mirrors the fragility of the natural world and the irreversible marks left by human intervention.
