"Passengers" is a metaphor for the experience of walking down the center aisle of the aircraft cabin. People are sitting in their seats, reading, sleeping, working, whiling away their time from here to there.

The long format of the mural also formally connects to the shape of an airplane cabin. The airport is a point of arrival and departure from our past, our home, our jobs, and a place of transition to new connections and opportunities. It is a mythic point of entry and return.

The audience for this piece will be the very travelers who are on these journeys. I would like that this audience may see themselves mirrored in this artwork, an opportunity to reflect not only on their own experience of flight, but on the idea of air travel, itself.
